Safety Manager (Construction) – LACCD Program
Position Overview
Dabri, Inc. is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to support the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) building program. This is a district-wide role responsible for overseeing safety compliance across multiple active construction sites.
The ideal candidate will bring strong field experience, leadership capability, and the ability to manage safety across complex, fast-paced construction environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safety oversight of construction activities on behalf of the Owner across multiple project sites
- Monitor contractor compliance with OSHA regulations and contract safety requirements
- Conduct daily safety reviews of work in progress in accordance with BuildLACCD standards and SOPs
- Perform ongoing construction site safety inspections and prepare daily reports
- Submit weekly Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Observation Reports to Project Managers
- Review contractor safety submittals including JHAs, MOPs, Fall Protection Plans, Crane Lift Plans, Excavation Plans, and Confined Space procedures
- Monitor compliance with Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP) requirements
- Lead safety discussions at construction meetings, including toolbox talks and hazard planning
- Review incident reports, participate in safety stand-downs, and document lessons learned
- Conduct and document safety orientations with contractor personnel
- Enforce zero-tolerance safety policies and corrective actions as needed
- Coordinate with Program Safety Manager and provide reporting/analysis as required
- Travel between multiple job sites throughout the Los Angeles region
Minimum Qualifications
- 10+ years of commercial construction experience in the U.S. with a General Contractor
- 5+ years of construction experience in California
- 2+ years of experience on educational or campus-based construction projects
- Strong experience managing field teams across multiple concurrent projects
- Experience in demolition, renovation, and new construction projects
- Experience working under OCIP programs
- Active and current safety certifications (must be included with application):
- SMS, CHST, or CSMC certification
- Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification
- Experience with hazardous materials, including asbestos and lead abatement
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with senior management and field teams
- Experience in construction meetings, reporting, and incident documentation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and standard construction software
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Construction Management, Safety Management, Engineering, or related field
- Additional safety certifications
- Current 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification
- Current OSHA 500 certification (Construction Trainer)
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $104,000 per year

Work Environment
This role requires flexibility to work across multiple active construction sites in the Greater Los Angeles area. Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing priorities across concurrent projects.
